Artwork FAQ

What is artwork? Artwork is made up of text and graphics. This could be either a logo, picture, illustration, and or text. Final artwork is the mechanical end product which is used to produce film, bromide or screens for printing or screen printing.

Sometimes the text is made up of fonts that are created specifically for a particular Corporate Identity.

In order to reproduce a clients logo to the highest possible quality on any promotional item the artwork must be provided in certain specified formats. These formats are listed below.

Where will we find our artwork?

Artwork is usually created by a graphic designer and or printer. The printer will usually retain your artwork on file for future printing of stationery orders. You need to contact your printer to send the artwork in the required format to us.

What can you accept as artwork?

1 colour or Black only
If the item is only to be printed in 1 colour or black only we can accept vector images such as .eps or .ai file sent by e-mail or on a disc. (see below) Please note that where text has been used in the construction of the artwork or image remember to send us the fonts that have been used.

2 colours or more
Where artwork is be printed in more than 1 colour we need the following:

  • A printed copy of the artwork showing the colour splits.
  • The pantone colour reference numbers.
  • The artwork in the correct specified format ( see below) colour separated and with the fonts included on a disc.

Can we use our letterhead as artwork?

No. The quality of a printed document is always inferior in quality as it has been taken down a generation ( or several generations). This will always produce a fuzzy appearance when screen printed.

Can we send artwork by e-mail?

We can accept vector images such as .eps or .ai file sent by e-mail. Alternatively we can accept this on a disc (see below).
